A portrait photograph shares a moment with a loved one for all time...
People continually change over time and each period has its own special moments from birth to life’s end. Professional photographic portraits are a great way to capture these precious moments.
Infants and children of course change more rapidly and therefore present more frequent precious moments and should be captured more frequently. Certainly everyone has a camera and yes, the technology is getting better all the time.
Good portraits however require more than just a good camera.
It takes experience, practice, rapport building skill, and technical knowledge.
So many times I have heard people say “I am too old for portraits”
There is no age limit for good portraits.
I have had many requests from families of weddings I have covered in the past requesting photographs of a beloved grandparent who has died, stating that the wedding photos are the only decent memories they have of their loved one.
